Steak + String Bean + Mushroom Stir Fry

Whenever I'm looking for a quick meal that's balanced in protein and veggies I go for a stir fry. This week I had beff...beef? on hand and some cute looking mushrooms and string beans.

~1 lb steak sliced thin (approx. 1/4 inch pieces)
1 lb string beans (I used haricot verts b/c I be fancy)
1 container (precise, yes) of mushrooms, stalks removed, sliced (I had baby bellas on hand)
2 tablespoons of Lobster dad's secret soy sauce / garlic / ketchup concoction or other marinade
1 teaspoon of black bean sauce
2 tablespoons of olive oil
salt to taste

Marinade* if you don't happen to have the my dad's secret sauce on hand:
~2 tablespoons of soy sauce
2-3 minced garlic cloves (depending on preference for garlickness)
A squirt or 2 of ketchup
maybe some sugar or salt

*Yes I'm super vague b/c it's secret and I actually don't know.

Slice it up! Go against the grain and remove any excess fat or chewy things. Pour 2 tablespoons of marinade into a bowl and mix with the meat. Let sit while preparing the rest of the veggies. Wash the string beans and trim the hard stems. Remove stalks from mushrooms and slice the caps.
Pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium high heat. When the oil looks looser / easily swishes around the pan, it's hot enough. Cook the meat first, toss a little with a spatula like you'd imagine a Chinese stir fry cook would do. When the meat turns fully brown on the outside, you can probably take it off the heat. I kept mine on longer and the meat turned out overdone. Scoop the meat out and set aside to rest.
Add more oil to the pan if needed. Then cook the veggies. When the beans are tender and the mushrooms brown / soft enough, add the black bean sauce (optional) and just toss to coat. You want the sauce to just warm up a bit to stick to the veggies. Add salt or soy sauce to taste. Return meat to pan with the veggies and do a quick toss to get everything together.
Serve over steamed jasmine rice. Oh yeah, make rice at the start of the meal and it should be cooked by the time everything's done.
