Instead of sweetened coconut shreds, I somehow ended up with unsweetened coconut flakes. It was much finer and drier but still tasted good and actually I liked it wasn't as sweet.

Since this was the first time making this recipe, I reserved some batter for "test" mini cupcakes.
The recipe said to bake 45-55 minutes. After 45 minutes, it seemed overbaked. I'd check in on it for a golden brown, mine was just brown. To decorate the top with sliced strawberry halves, first i measured halfway to see how much strawberries to set aside before chopping the rest up for the filling.
