I defrosted our one-year old wedding cake for my and the hubs' anniversary. Yes, it's been officially a year and we still love each other. Back to the cake, I gotta be honest, it didn't taste terrible. I really wasn't expecting much. In fact, I expected very bad things. And it tasted...not bad! Still moist, buttercream still buttery and creamy, with the raspberry curd I picked out. The shimmery quilted fondant still with its glitter and the black and white anemone made it through in one piece.

My sister hand made these felt owls for my bridal shower last year and we forgot to include them on the wedding day. Never fear, they eventually saw the cake:
